I was looking through my "scrapbook" from when Joe and I were dating and found this gem.
When I took my bike into Outdoors Unlimited to get fixed, Joe was the one that helped me. We made eye contact, and had a little bit of love at first site. Apparently I left my copy of the receipt (this one) at the store, and Joe proceeded to take it home with him. Two months past. During that time we saw each other a couple of times at the shop, and once at stake conference. However, it wasn't until March 8th, 2000 that we had our first date. He had kept this receipt, but it was kicking around his bedroom (if you had seen his room you'd be surprised he was able to find it at all) He had been too busy dating another girl to ask me out earlier. She broke up with him, so he called me. Kind of funny, because 2 weeks after our first date (we were connected at the hip by then) she called Joe to get him back. The rest is history.

How great that you still have this!
Ahhhhhhhhh! That is a great little piece of paper to keep. I still have a fortune from a cookie that I got right after Richard and I got engaged that says something about "your future engagement is a good one".
Funny thing is that when I went to pick her up, she had such a freakish perm going on that I almost didn't recognize her...
...props to my bro Mark and T. Romney for wheedling me into asking her out for our first date - a group date to the Spagetti Factory (where B. Romney hooked us up with a discount) and then sledding up above Aspen Grove and Sundance. Everybody knew I had the receipt still and it was getting harder and harder each day to come up with a story to tell Jessica about how I had obtained/retained her number.
I found you through Debbie Thompson's blog. We went to high school together and then were college roomies. It is so crazy that so many people I know have blogs. It is a great way to keep up on everyone's lives! How do you like Texas and how have you been?
Oh that's so great that you found that! Good memories.
