Bloggy Giveaway!

Attention Music Lovers!

I am taking part in the Bloggy giveaway carnival where there are literally hundreds of giveaways going on right now.

I am giving away 1 CD of Harp Music, played and recorded by me, myself, and I. There are 9 songs on the CD, and there's a good mix between classic, popular, and other music styles.

I live in the Dallas Texas area, and play harp for weddings and other events here. If you live in the area and would like me to play for your event, or if you know someone who would love live harp music, just check out my website Jessica.Roadjoural.org. This is my temporary website while I work on getting my dallas(dot)harpist(dot)com set up.

To be entered in this giveaway just visit my harp website, then come back here and give me some feedback on the website. If you comment without feedback, you will not be entered to win the CD.

Some rules: You have to live in the United States to enter. If you don't have a google ID, please leave me an email address, so I'll be able to contact you if you win. On Sunday April 27th at 10pm I will choose a winner.

Good luck, and happy listening!

If would be great if you had a live link to a musical recording.

Good job joining the carnival! Your website looks like it's well on it's way. It is very informative. I don't know if it was just my computer, or what, but the margins were too big and I had to scroll across to read each sentence.
Enjoy all the commenting!

Your website is very well done. It would be quite nice if there was a little more color.

Wow... you have an amazing talent! I love the way you play! I especially liked the way you played "You're Beautiful"! The only recommendations I would have for your website is maybe more pictures and color? My brother in laws are trying to design a website for my father in law so... I know firsthand how frustrating it can be! Your kids are precious!!!!!!! God bless!

Your website is so clean and simple to look at. I loved looking at your list of songs- Pachebels' Canon in D is one of my favorites. :) I love harp music, and we had a harpist at our wedding reception (mostly Irish music).
Maybe add some more photos/sound clips to your websites? (Wedding photos are also fun to see!)
Blessings,
Michele :)

First of all, you play beautifully!

Your website is very informative and professional. I would personally add some backround color and some of your music as well. I don't know how to do that since I am not a techie but it would be nice to open up your page and hear you playing the harp.

A few comments on the website: I too like the simplicity. I wish the sites I visited when looking for a wedding photographer actually made it possible to find the info I seek, as yours does. Here's the critique: The title of the page still reads "Boise Harpist", as does the footer.I'd say update the photos on some pages (maybe to the one in the field--it's so elegant). I also would tweak the font and add text formatting (italics, bold, headers, indents). If you want google or other search engines to find it, I'd say add some metadata. It doesn't look like there is any when I view the source. Also, I was formerly a proofreader and there are some commas out of place, etc. Anyway, congrats on a great side job. (I'd love to hear your CD. I do have a USA address...so don't let the Australia-ness of my current residence disqualify me, please!) P.S. let me know if you'd like some help....I love that kind of thing!

You web-site is easy to navigate, which is good. A little simple in design, perhaps. A nicer font (perhaps use a picture of the fonts, if you know what I mean) for the links on the left would be good.

I like the simplicity of your site, but the font on the left should be a little darker.

You play beautifully!!! I have always like the sound of the harp. Keep up the good work. The only thing I would change on your website is the color of the links on the side. A darker color would be perfect. Thanks for the chance to win!

I agree with some that a link to some of your music would be nice. Also the choices on the left hand side are a little light in terms of font color. I think a darker color would be easier to read.

I think you could have some of your music streaming in the background, or some actual video clips on your site, honestly the idea of going to You Tube would not inspire confidence for myself. Otherwise it looks great, maybe a bit more color. Thanks for the chance!

I *adore* harp music. I would love to win this prize!
Your website is nice and simple, though I agree with some previous comments about adding some music or video samples within the site. I'd love to hear some music in the background while I am browsing your website!
Also, the screen is a little wide for my resolution, at least. I had to scroll the slightest bit horizontally in order to see the entire page. It would be much better to make sure it is entirely visible without scrolling.

Hi, I enjoy harp music. I have been to weddings where there is a harpist playing. Your site is good, but I can hardly read the green wording on the left side of the screen. Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks,Cindi

Your website is good, very professional. My brother had a college student harpist at his wedding and she was a jerk! It sort of ruined the mood for me.
I liked reading your bio on your harp site!

You webpage has a nice, clean look to it (no wild colors, no excessive graphics, scrolling headers, automatic music playing, etc). However, the margins could stand to be narrowed a bit, and a few more photos might perk it up just a touch.

Thanks for the chance to win!

GREAT giveaway!

I love harp music. My husband is a musician of a different instrument, so music runs in our veins here.

Regarding your website, I appreciate the clean uncluttered design and feel. It is very easy to find everything including your rates. Which to me is a plus, many artists try to hide or layer it to try and lure you in.

Music samples would be good. Overall the site is excellent.

Hey, if you have a chance, please stop by and visit my contest page too!

I really enjoyed visiting your site. it was beautiful and simplistic. I am not a web-designer - but if there was a way to keep the music going between pages that would be nice. I may contact you to see if Austin is too far - I know of weddings coming up... your music is a gift.
have a wonderful day!

I like your site! It's easy to navigate, it's informative, and it's not so graphics-intensive that it's slow to load. I love harp music - I'd like to learn how to play myself one of these days.

I love your website's ease of use. And that you put a video of yourself playing....that would be helpful to decide on looking more into your musical services!

My mom is learning to play the harp right now. I'd love to share this CD with her!

Thanks!
